4L60E Housing Problems Was just wondering whether anyone else has had any problems with the tailshaft housing cracking. Mine cracked right in front of the trans. mount. I had it welded, and it cracked again, (I think the welding heated the aluminum up too much). Anyhow, I got a new one coming from GM (for a tune of $200, damn crooks) so it should be fixed soon.

Well, The new trans tail housing I had bought cracked again about a week ago. I'm thinking that my driveshaft is outta balance...
So I got a housing coming from 11SECSS, and I bought an aluminum D/S. I hope this solves my issue, if not I don't know what I'm going to do...

From what I have been told, this is another weak link on our beloved F-cars, but what can you do but try to improve upon GM's shortcomings I guess
