Default In a little bit of a dilema

My car was recently in a wreck and i just got it back, but they hadn't oredered the cd changer. I just got a call from state farm saying that the cd changer they located was sold to someone else and their having a hard time finding a replacement one. GM is saying the cd changer cost over a $1,000 and if state farm were to get the cd changer from them, state farm will total my car. They said they would give me a aftermarket cd changer but it wont match up to my stock head unit and i will have to get some type of remote to work it. I really dont want to have an aftermarket one, i want the original stock one. Does anyone know of anybody that is selling their cd changer, state farm said they would reinburse me if i found one. I know i can look for one on here, but i just got this news and i have to go to work, so if someone could just put a link that would help. Thanks for any help.

You can get an aftermarket one to work just like the stock ones do, I know I have both.

My SS came with the 12 disc changer. My T/A did not have that option, so I searched here on LS1TECH.com about an aftermarket one.
I bought a 10 disc changer called NEO from Best Buy for like $220. Works EXACTLY like my 12 disc in my SS in every way, and hooks right up the same way as stock, no wiring AT ALL. JUST LIKE STOCK. So those idiots are wrong.
The only difference is the changing of songs and CD's are just a tiny tiny bit longer, and of course the mounting points will be different. But it also plays MP3's!!!

Here's what it looks like:

Peace,
Craig.

Tell them not to put one on that is weight reduction.
I would not even put one on if that was the diffirence in totalling my car or not.

I just looked at the box it came in and I can't see any part number! lol I think they only make this one. The one I bought works on almost every newer model car. It comes with different cables to mate up with your wiring, so it works with alot of different cars.

Check out their site:

Thats the thing, you can mount this puppy anywhere, anyway you want. They give you a long *** cable, but I just mounted it where the stock ones go. Opposite to where the spare tire is (big opening on left trunk side). Thats where your cable is, even if you don't have a 12 disc option like my T/A they all have the wires for one. Just have to take the speaker panel off and unwrap the changer cable.
But like I said you can mount it anywhere anyway. Can mount flat like the picture is shown, at a 45 degree angle, or straight up.

I'll take a picture here in a second to show you guys/gals.

Peace,
Craig.
