Default Stock wires...heat shields?

What are these metal covers on my wires? Some kind of heat shield?

Whatever they are, they are getting in my way...how are they attached?

They should slide right off the plug ends.

The metal part doesn't connect to anything, it just slides over the end of the plug wire so don't try turning it. If you're having a problem gripping the metal just pull from the rubber part just above it. I put aftermarket wires on with my first plug change so I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore.

I hate having to even post because i've done plug swaps before but this is the first time on an LS1 and i've never seen these stupid metal sleeves before. Maybe i'll just get a pair of pliers and get brutal with them.

And yeah I have a set of MSD wires for after the header install.

LMAO - I had a lot of the same frustrations when I did my first LS1 plug change. Just put some *** into it and you'll get it
