trans mounted or tunnel?
With torque arms, at what point would you stop using a tranny mounted torque arm? This only makes a difference when you laungh hard right? I guess power matters too? I read somewhere that the tranny mounted torque arms can go upto 11.0 on the quarter, and not recomended beyond. But say you had a car with a ton of power, but only cut a 1.6 60'. The tranny mounted torque arm would survive right?

1.6 is still pretty tough on your tranny tailshaft. Think of all the force involved with launching a car and have it all resting on your tailshaft. There may be guys making them survive but it wont last too long. It's all a crap shoot.
Go tunnel mount and be done with it. Why have to worry about something you already bought six months or a year down the road?
