You didnt say what your application is. If it is on the street with any street tire get a 228/232 112 XER and you will have no traction in the first two gears with any tire. If you are going to the track get a 232/236 112 XER. Be sure to get the appropriate compression. With a FAST manifold, headers, UD pulley, and no cats you will have 450rwhp on the first set-up with great heads and 465 on the second. Street driveability is the first cam. If you have no other good parts like heads, manifold, headers, then just get a 224/230 split XER.

I got 441 to the wheels with the 224/230 from comp cams but I had every other part listed plus a cold air intake, aluminum flywheel, and exhaust. If you go with the 224 get it on a 114. This cam is an easy tune and I have no traction in the first 2 gears. The compression on my C5 is 11.3:1 static (running 93 octane with no knock retard for 3 years now) and just installed the same cam in my C6 with 11.5:1. 10.1:1 (stock) will be 20rwhp less just to illustrate how different the results will be.

Heads are the big question here. The better they are, the faster you are.

Why such a drastic change between 2 cam choices? That just tells me you dont know WTH you want out of our cam. I'd say go with something right in between those. 228/230 with high 590's

I have that exact first cam you speak of i got mine on a 114+2. i have not yet installed in im still trying to decide what heads to get. It will be going in my 383 i hope it does well from what i have read it should do pretty well. also try searching other cams close to those specs that cam is very new so many people wont have it. try searching mti's R1 cam specs are 232/236 .575/.578 lsa114. that might help you find some more awnsers. i wont have my setup done till right about the new year, well i have the 383 in my car right now and i am running it with a 224cam and stokc heads( crappy combo) but money was low at teh time lol

i chose those two because the first one is the smallest in one category and the other is the biggest in the category below the first. the h/c package says to chose one of theirs.

car is a 99 6 speed. i had a 230/236 in my LT1. and i thought it was streetable. seemed to pull after 3000rpm. car will be used on the street as a daily driver, with probably 2-3 track days a year.

You should go with the Indimidator cam.

It's running the same duration as the Devastator but with a higher lift. The good thing is it keeps it under 600. You'll get a power gain all around plus one of the benifits of getting better heads is running higher lift without causing airflow turbulence. Get it on a 112LSA +4 advance. It will be nice.

Also there seems to be an error on the website. It lists the Devastator as the 3rd largest cam, but the Indimidator has the same duration with higher lift, so the Indimidator should be the 3rd largest, and the Devastator should be the 4th largest. Either way when you're choosing a large duration like 232/236 and you have better heads than stock, there's no sense in not going with the higher lift unless you're trying to avoid flycutting the pistons or something else you didnt mention. You should take advantage of the lift.

Ultimately i should ask..how high are you willing to spin your engine?

O and you're local. cool. let me get a ride when you're done with it.

i ran into this when ordering my cam the devastator used to be bigger than the intemidator. the dev used to be a 234/238 with the higer lift specs but that cam lobes they wanted to use with it wrent avail anymore. so that is why they now have two cams with 232/236 one with smaller lift one with larger.

If you dont wanna rev past 6500, definitely get the 112 LSA + 4 advance .
Flycutting will depend on size of cam and how much (if at all) the heads are milled. Order them unmilled to be safe.

I live in San Bruno and I work in Millbrae.
