Default Manifolds and Welding

How Important is it to Tig Weld a Turbo Manifold.

If your using 321 stainless or Inconel Pipe is it possible to Mig it?

I know TIG is the best but i don't own a tig and can't tig for the life of me.

If you're going to spend the big $$$$ on either material definitely don't MIG weld them. Tack them up and have someone else TIG weld. Not sure if you've actually priced said material but it's very expensive?

Definately TIG either one. Be sure to have whoever welds them have it bolted to an extra head, also. It'll warp badly if you don't.

I don't know who you're getting 321 from but I'd love to know if you're getting a full exhaust and all the hot parts worth for only $400.

Same here, I've got about a grand out for all the pipes and bends, plus another 900 for the double slip collectors.... but if you'fe got a hook-up like that, then you can afford to pay a top notch welder to TIG your stuff together.

Make sure he back-purges the pipes with gas, also.

I'm not going to go into where i get the 321 from but i know it's a good deal and i do all my own mandrel bends at the shop on the weekends for free.

the collectors aren't anything too special just 4 pipes merged together into a v-band welded inside and out.

if i give up the source it'll be alot harder for me to get the pipe i need, it's hard enough as it is now. it's taken almost 6 months to get what i have now. I would almost be inlcined to say it was scrap metal but i have gotten most of it in 7-8 foot sections

Tack them up and send them to us. I can weld them for a pretty decent price

I'd say you are definitely getting a smoking deal for that price. I hope you're talking about using a mandrel bender and not a regular tubing bender? Maybe after you gather all the material you need you could pass along who you're getting this stuff from Oh, if you you don't have access to someone that can TIG that stuff for you I can always do if for a decent price.
