Gears & Axles - 10 bolt problem

have a 10 bolt with 3.73's and a eaton diff. drove to the mall today every thing was fine. came out, put the car in reverse to leave and the rear seemed to bind a little and pop. forward was still fine with no noise at all. but when going in reverse it still pops. tearing it down later today. anyone have any ideas?

Mine is doing the same thing but in forward and reverse just a pop or kind of a click noise when put under a load. I pulled the cover and replaced the retainer bolt for the pin. This helped some, as the old bolt was a little bent and gouged, but did not completely fix the problem. If you find out the problem please let me know. I kinda think it may be the pin in the diff but I am not sure.

Why would the pin cause that? All it does is push the axles outward to keep them in place.

Don't for sure know it is but I can't seem to find anything else wrong. Diff pops when the clutch is let out from a standstill. Also the pin seems to be very loose inside the diff.

i had one doing the same thing turned out to be a couple of teeth gone on ring gear and pinion
