Default Goodyear dot drag radials.....

Anyone seen the new Goodyear Eagle SS dot drag radials? Check out the Goodyear website. Dunlop also is coming out w/a dot drag radial tire that is shown on the Goodyear site. Here come the tire wars again.... BFG, Nitto, M/T, Goodyear, Dunlop....Who's next w/a drag radial? How about M&H and Hoosier?? WJ

Nice array of sizes, widths and diameters on the Goodyears. Like you said, the Dunlops look to be geared more for the rice... Will bet Goodyear will hit the right compounds and they'll be giving the M/T ET Street radials a run for their $, or even out perform them. Too bad it took Goodyear so long to develop this tire, although later is better than never..... WJ

Good find WJ. I wonder how those 315-35/17's would hook on my truck?????? Bet the smaller tire would help to lower my gears to where they should be too.

I'm sure some of the NHRA E.F.I. stocker class cars tried them out at the last 2 National events of the season. Watch for articles about them on NHRA.com and in National Dragster. My friend owns a Goodyear franchise tire and repair store here in central Ma. I'll try to see if he can come up w/price sheet for the Eagle SS's.... WJ

If they hook at the track better than the others, people will step up for them, even if they are a little pricey....especially if they improve 60's and mph. If they work, and you don't have them, you're just giving someone who does the advantage at the track...It's like hamburg vs. a sirloin strip steak on the grille!! WJ

Just saw the Goodyears at PRI. They look a bit like the M/T, can't take picts at PRI and I didn't see any pricing info.

Edit: Pricing looks to be $185.XX with the 275 40 17 avil. 1st quarter next year.

Matt

Falken has a DR out now too. A kid I know had them on his '05 GTO. They seemed to hook up about the same as the Nittos. They may be a little harder though, hard to say.

All these different choices for drag radials and I still will have to go with the M&H series. They are the only ones that make a 28in. tall 17in drag radial that I know of.
