Default Dick Harrell Cowl Hoods

I take it the cowl hood for the 2002 Dick Harrel Camaro, and also for the Woodward Dream Cruise Camaro were made in-house and are not available for sale.

Yes, I know their are companies that make cowl hoods. But, I don't think the hoods on those cars are store bought.

If they were purchased off the shelf, where could a guy get them?

Yeah you arent going to be able to buy them. The fenders and rear quarters were specially made.

You can purchase the hood from VFN Fiberglass. They are not the original makers but they make a nice knock off and, you can also get it without the line.

The closest thing to them is the VFN hood. Do a search (use my name in the advance search) for berger. You'll see many posts where I have been looking for the same thing. As my project costs have risen beyond my original scope, I have dropped the fender flare quest (for the moment ) and picked up a stock metal hood. I planned on getting a fiberglass version of a stock hood and making my own "rounded" cowl hood, but may wait on that.

I was in contact with a fiberglass hood builder about making a simialr hood as well, but we weren't sure how many people would be interested, so I may still look at doing a one off hood only.

I have just recently found someone that may help me with fender flares, but I have already bought some 18"x9" wheels so I'd have to sell those to get some 19x11 wheels to make the flaring worthwhile

The hood is named after that blue car which made the hood popular. Its called the Sunoco hood. VFN Fiberglass is the place to get it, with or without the bodyline.

Gotta love sponsers that listen to its members

The nose is different too, and I think it adds to the look. In a way I wish the fenders were available, in a way I'm glad taht they're not. This way the look doesnt get over used like the SS hoods.

Maybe the reason I'm not so hot on the VFN hoods is that I have never seen any good photography of them. You would think that if they wanted to sell hoods, they would have a gallery about 100 times as large as the one they have now. Not only does their gallery lack in amount of pictures, it seriously lacks in quality as well.

I think that I would like my car, a white '99 Z, with the SLP grille painted white, a cowl hood, and red rally stripes that go all the way down over the grille and lip.
