Default Aluminum Center section on street?

I heard the aluminum center section wont transfer enough heat on the street but think it is bull s&*t. Anyone have a problem with this? Its maybe driven 50-70 miles a week. Thanks,
Joe

I plan to run one on the street. This is the first I've heard of this and I havn't seen anything to that affect in the Strange or Moser Catalogues. What are people saying the heat transfer issue is causing? It would deffinatly dissapate heat fast but I can't imagine that it would run to cool, maybe it's an issue with pro comp gears or something?

Problem is aluminum will move around a lot more the nodular iron. Plus aluminum cases are a quite a bit thicker inside and use less fluid. 70 miles a week is no problem at all, I drive my car with a spool and aluminum center quite a bit and its quieter then any 4th gen 12 bolt I ever had still

My 12 bolt whines it A$$ off!!!! I have a two friends that run alum center sections on the street and have had no problems. One is a M6 and the other an A4. They drive them to the track that is a little over 100 miles away, make pass after pass and drive them back to the house.

There ar different aluminum centers as well, the 'regular' Strange aluminum looks pretty weak compared to a thru bolt Strange HD or MW and moser. I probably wouldnt use one a 12K a year daily driver though, they are only 10-15lbs lighter and on a daily driver 15lbs vs the extra cost isnt worth it IMO.

Thanks for the replies I thought it was false about the heat thing or more like a safety issue. Thanks again for the replies.

I have a regular aluminum strange center section, slight gear whine, it's seen 180+mph on multiple occasions, no problems so far.

I drove a regular aluminum Strange case daily for over a year with no probs at all. I now use a Moser case, as it has thru bolts and is a bit beefier for racing.
