Does anyone know if the 06 ls2 V is faster than the ls6V?

Early stuff I've seen shows them pretty much equal. The LS2 appears to have good low and midrange power but doesn't pull up top like the the LS6.

For the faster of the two, it'd be decided by the driver.

So I'd have to assume that the LS2 would be more fun to drive around town in. Torque is fun.

that is, of course, unless you drive like me ;)

No replacement for displacement!! Swap in a cam and watch the 6.0 do its thing!

TORNATIC!!

Take that torque managment off those LS2's and the top end will improve.

im not sure but the ls2 may have more cubes, about what 20ci....but im not sure if it would be that much faster than a 5.7.

Yes, yes....... more displacement, more possible power production...i should know!! :)

BUt maybe i havent ran into one where i can truly see but these ls6 motors are just ass bad and should yield better mileage while producing the same amount of power.

The ls2 has a larger bore will the stroke remains the same. It will yield a larger piston area, increasing the amount of fuel/air/combustion material therefore yeilding more power productivity. However, the friction coefficient has also increased with the larger bore and i just dont seeit being enough to over the ls6 since the increase in quite minimal when compared to a 382 or a 408ci. (its an unbalanced comparison, i know).

Now, the ls2 should yield more low-end torque which is only natural for an increase indisplacement but stock for stock, i believe the differences wont be that much if any at all. Now, the 06' will have a beefier rear-end which should be the key ingredient to faster times and reliabilty.

cams are probably different too...which would be an advantage for the ls6. And the ls6 intake is better...but I'd take the LS2 any day for that bigger bore.

the cam in the ls6 is slightly larger (02 + ls6 motor), the cam in the LS2 is the same cam the came in the 01 Z06/LS6 motors
