Not sure if he is on here, but I know he is on Corvette Forum.

MTI can vouch for the car - they built it.

It's nice...I was wondering about that powerband and then noticed it's an STS kit. Nice car though...I bet it pulls like crazy.

So your Supra spools by 3,000?

Not too shabby.

The one that spools by 3000 is a 370, the vette has a 382, the one that spools by 3300 is a completely stock 346 on a 2000 TA. On my personal car that is a 346 with minor head work and a blower cam spools by 3150. I seriously doubt that vette has any problem building full boost by 3k. When does the PTK hit full boost? I think the spool argument just like the other arguments against the rear mount kit is heading out the window.

Funny, the owner himself says the car spools at 3800 rpm and this is with the base STS turbos (not the optional larger turbos) with his H/C 383 stroker.

Nice car though!

guess I stand corrected.

I wonder why so slow. Perhaps they went too big on A/R or maybe he just wanted it that way?

hmm unless I missed something in that thread that guy was not the 383. he also may have leaks somewhere, bad tune, etc.... Until I found my leaks full boost was indeed around 3600. Put a pressure tester on there, fixed the leaks, viola, 3150. So anyway I just can report what I see with my own eyes. Synergy has done quite a few of these kits and the slowest spool so far is that stock TA who's boost graph is in the link above. I can say if the kit is installed right it should never be worse than 3300.

btw not trying to promote one over the other. a front mount is obviously superior response and powerwise and if I didn't live in Cali I would use one of the front mount systems. But for alot of folks that don't want to lose stock fans, like the ease of install, have to deal with smog, etc.... the STS can do very very well and is not the lag monster folks make it out to be.

No one said it was a lag monster... nor is a Supra a lag monster either.

STS's are cool.

All different powerbands, though.

I would respectfully disagree. When I see a big single turbo Supra run 12.95 @ 130 MPH that tells me the motor can't spool the turbo.

Well you must have missed something then. Houston-Z06 = Jason = The car in question above = 383 ci. Maybe you are confusing the single turbo STS systems (f body, GTO, etc) with the vette TT STS system. Regardless, he's not spooling that 383 until 3800 rpm with the base STS system (with the OPTIONAL BOV and single waste gate).

I know what you're trying to say. There are some Supra guys that are just interested in Dyno numbers. Not all Supras are this way. There are some 500 rwhp Supras that smoke some of their own buddies with twice the power... And that's a 3.0L six... Look at the top DSM's that trap over 150 mph. Super-small displacement motors and they have no lag problems. Oh, and the AMS Evo, etc...

If you know what you're doing and you tailor everything around strictly DRAG RACING, you could do quite a bit with these motors and take care of lag, motors usually thought of as LAG monsters.

It tells me he is on 19" street tires and not on 17 inch drag radials.

The guy just needs to slap some 15" X 10.5" slicks on there and run a mid 10 at 130 mph.

Or much more likely that the Supra had no traction!
