My friend dynoed his almost stock 04 Viper last week and these are the numbers. The car is stock except a K & N filter and the muffler removed, not the cats. It has about 5,ooo miles on it.
430 rwhp and 480 rwtq. He dynoed it hot in 80 degree temps. in West Texas.
I thought it was pretty good although it doesnt feel near as fast as my Vette.

I'm sure its not as fast as your stroker Vette. Haven't you guys ever raced before? My 96 GTS made 437/482 with no cats and my VEC computer tuning. It made 418/461 before the tuning with tq gains as high 53ft/lbs in the mid range. If he plans to do anything to the car have him looking into a tuneable computer. The stock tune sucks.

Buddy here in town made 430/450 in a 01 viper GTS. It has smooth tubes, and a catback, everything else stock. It's a quick car, but you said it B18-his next mods sitting at his house are=gears/computer/headers......i'll only take a swing at that thing at the track, on the street that car is/will be brutal

They are just to expensive to build. I much rather build my Viper but the Formula is just so much cheaper to repair and build. I would love to turbo mine but its just not going to happen. I will install my nitrous/propane kit, headers, and exhaust over the next 3 mos. Then get a Roe Supercharger mid summer sometime and settle for 650/750.

I believe they dynoed the GTS model in Motor Trend to the tune of 447 whp. The new Z06 dynoed 454whp though. pretty close though, with the Viper having more torque.

about 250lbs less, yet you have to keep in mind that the ls7 motor is much more bottled up. the longtubes on the z06 bring out the hidden torque that the viper has with its stock, freer flowing exhaust

Good call on the Roe Supercharger. Buddy has one on his car and with 9lbs it's over 700rwhp

Hey David, I think you need to race buldogg (Jerry) with the STS T/A. It should be a close race. Have you two raced before?

I just got of the dyno with a 96 GTS and roughly a 175 nitrous/propane shot and it made 661/882. NA numbers were 450/502. Both were uncorrected @ 64 degrees. I'll get SAE #'s tomorrow.

My buddie just put down 454/493. All he has is headers, a cat back and a cold air kit. Oh and it is a srt-10. Still a viper motor but just in a big truck!

People also need to keep in mind that Vipers have a 335 rear tire, and the wheels are HEAVY. I picked up a rear Viper wheel once and was shocked at how heavy it was.
With a set of lighter wheels in the back, expect to see any Viper jump up 15 rwhp on the dyno.

Propane rocks. We've been using it on Turbo Buicks for a little while now. Run 25psi on pump gas!

I ran one that was bone stock at the track last summer, when I had 340 RWHP, vararam, BFG drs.... he went 12.4 I went 12.3 and he trapped 118, me 114. Win light, sweet car, great guy. Was a H/C LT Dr vipper running low 11s that day.
Last fall had a bone stock one come in when I had the above mods, and LG Pro Lts 375 RWHP... He went 12.4 @ 116 I went 11.82 @ 118, and no, he did not line up with me. No worries, great cars!

We have dynoed and tuned many Paxton supercharged Vipers that are all putting down right at 600 RWHP at 7-8 psi of boost on our Mustang Dyno. These kits use liquid to air aftercooling, a very impressive setup. That would be in the 675 RWHP area on a DynoJet.
