PRO 5.0 shifter should it be this noisy???
Just got the tranny rebuilt. I went w/ the steel shift fork new blocker rings and new 3/4 billet keys(the reason i had to rebuild it). I also put in all new hydraulics and did the drill mod on the master clyinder, put in a new Centerforce dual friction clutch and flywheel. I also changed out the factory hurst shifter w/ a Pro 5.0. the guy at the shop told me it would be a little louder. but this thing rattles like a piece of ****.
Does anyone else have this annoying problem??? are there any fixes?? I really like the feel of the shifter but cant stand the noise.

Mine rattled at first because I had the stops adjusted to close to the stick, but when I backed them off a bit the rattles went away. I also got ride of a lot of vibration when I put a gasket between the shifter and transmission and also one between the stick and the shifter. Now mine is almost as quite as stock, but feels a hell of a lot better than the stock one ever did.

I took the stops all the way back. They don't really seem to be necessary for our cars. I don't get any rattling at all and the shifts are smooth as silk.

I put some blue threadlocker on my stops. Also put a paper gasket between the shifter and the tranny. I believe that helped a bit. It's bound to be louder than the stock shifter though. The stock stick has a huge rubber isolator around it.

Had the same problem with mine. Then I did some research on it and found a place shiftergaskets.com He has them for our T-56's , just ask him. Think they are like $20, but no noise at all now.
