Default Grand Am camshaft- Is notching pistons required on all install

With the GMPP Grand Am cup camshaft, is it essential to notch pistons on every install, eg. can you install on different centreline and get away without notching?

With stock heads.

the lift is low like .550 ish isnt it? if so then it would not be a problem i wouldnt think. its got lazy lobes not too much lift and it for a stock headed motor.

What is the centerline on that cam? I don't think that you would need to on un-modified heads. I think that if we are talking about the same cam it is on .570/.570 on a 106°?

Yes 106LSA 239/251 with 0.570/0.570. The lift isnt the problem its the duration.
