Default Guess what I got for $500

The 1998 T/A in this post.
Hard to take a pic in the dark.
It has it's problems though. 133,000 miles, the oil pressure sender in the back of the engine is broken off and it pours oil out, transmount or something is broken. Worst of all it runs like total crap. It barely gets out of it's own way. And it blows air out of the oil fill hole, I'm thinking blown head gasket yet it has no oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil, so maybe it's a piston seal problem.

It looks decent though, underneath is not beat up with jack marks, etc. I'll probably post pictures later.

I drove it home..... 5 minutes. seems to drive ok otherwise.

cool man! Sounds like an awesome project car. If i were you i'd pull the whole drivetrain, find someone who's parting out, and rebuild it.

Is it the oil pressure sending unit thats broke? Behind the intake? Thats like a 30$ fix. Id do a basic tune up on it see what you find. For 500$ thats awesome!

The oil pressure sender, how do you get to it? I just put the transmission back in my 2002 and seen the sender from back there and wondered how the heck you'd get to it with everything together. I can only feel the base of the sender, no clue on how I'd access it to get it out.

Also need to find out why it puffs air out of the oil fill, has to be a blown head gasket or broken rings. It misses like crazy, like it's running on 5 cylinders.

I drove it 5 minutes home with the MAF off so that might be why it had no power. It only put two codes out, one for the maf and a 0418 air pump I think.

I'm also working on getting my HPTuners set up to program a '98 F-Body so I'll probably get rid of the air pump, egr, maybe cats.

I haven't had any time to get a good look at the problems yet. Most stuff seems to work though.

It was dark when I got home, would take some pictures, it looks better than you might think.

The easiest way is to take the intake off..then its right there. I broke mine when i installed my Lingenfelter intake. Its so easily broken because most of its plastic. Its sitting right behind the intake. The oil pressure sending unit. Does your oil gauge in the car read 0?

Awesome.

I'd pull the intake and replace the oil sender, replace the maf, check all the wires, fluids, and see what ya got. Running !maf the car will not idle that bad.

My oil gauge reads zero. I can't seem to find the rest of the sender or the plug, but there are wires cut and taped off back there, guess thats them.

Theres a ton of oil sludge in the oil filler, looks like it's never been changed.

I'll sell it if someone in Florida wants it. If not I'm going to look into why theres so much pressure in the crankcase when it runs. I did find the pcv disconnected and other crankcase hoses not plugged into anything.

dang, thats cheap!

You could probably make a small fortune if you trailered it to some huge Ford event like Fun Ford Weekend and charged $20 to each person to take three wacks at it with a sledgehammer

I think you could make the most money parting it out. Looks like it's still got quite a few good parts on it.
