Racer's Lounge - Who here enjoys Tractor pulling... HUGE PIC INSIDE

As was being discussed in another thread... someone mentioned my avatar pic. If you have never seen the diesel or blown big block powered tractor pullers run... you REALLY should


The diesel motors like the one pictured are HUGE POWER makers... 4,000 hp and near 6,000 lb ft of tq. They pull a massive trailing rig with a moving weight setup to make it harder on them the further down the track. They have to make a pull to get past 300 ft.

anyways the other bigger kind is the multiple blown alky big blocks and other fueler motors strapped together and knitted on with a T-case to the tranny and then to the rear end and those can make over 6000 hp and more depending on the motor setups and how many are on there :D

i love tractor pulls. they are a lot of fun to watch. ive ridden with a couple friends in truck pulls but the big ass tractor pulls tkae the cake.

I've never been to one in person but I was a TNN viewer growing up. lol

ive seen some with helicopter turbines :devil: , the tractor trailers are cool too.

Anybody remember when they used to have tug-of-wars at monster truck shows? The would chain a car between two trucks and rip it a new one. I've got some old school monster truck videos from back before monster trucks had suspension, and 3 feet of air was enough to give you a broken neck.

Its called Bigfoot 4x4x4 right. I have that one where Bigfoot is on the concrete and there a bunch of tug-o-war ropes attached to the back of his truck and the people are pullin g him in the dirt.

Tractor pulls are the shit. The ones here in Alabama are badass supposedly tractor pullings roots are here but IDK. I do know a shit load of people show up for it though. You can feel the power in your chest like top fuel dragsters two of my favorite sports :hump:

i have been to many a tractor pull and some truck pulls, almost made a lawn mower pulling tractor but i couldnt seem to find a rule book(nitrous or no nitrous?)

i have never seent he multi-engine ones, but have seen some BIG diesels.

There is older tractor pull show on Discovery or something. Anyway, part of it was filmed right here in grand ol' Terre Haute, IN :lol:

I haven't gone. Usually I just cruise around messing with all the turbo diesels driving around. When that is going on Terre Haute is under a constant cloud of black smoke :jest:
