Whose car weighs in the 3000-3100lbs Range?
I would like to see a few examples of what a 3000 - 3100lbs car looks like. How extreme are we talkin bout? Would I absolutly have to loose my A/C and radio? Reason I ask is strictly for comfort purposes. I just want to gauge myself on how far I'm willing to go. I read the sticky but i think anyone already there shouldnt have a problem lending a quick hand. Thanx
I'm not to intrested in tons of fiberglass body parts, aside from maybe a hood thats not an option I'm willing to explore. I'm not too attached to my interior so gutting it is something im kinda considering for sure.
If I'm asking for something thats unattainable, well oh well. LOL

My car is 3052 with 235ish driver.
There is no interior, no carpet, one manual seat, !HVAC, !radio, !speakers.
But I do have a K-member, A-arms, QA1 springs/shocks, 'glass hood.
I do think you could still have some interior and probably the HVAC stuff but it will take ALOT of other work, b/c that HVAC stuff is 'easy' reduction.

Do you mean a 3000-3100 lb car or a 3000-3100lb race weight?
I bet if i put my radio and a/c back in i would be around 3050 with me in it. right now i'm at 2960 with me in it.i'm about 200 lbs. i still have all factory body, hood, hatch, glass and if you look inside the only thing missing is center console and rear seats.
I have dash, carpet, all panels and two race seats with 5 point harnesses.
I drive mine every day too.

I'm at 3160 with 1/4 tank of gas and the only thing you can see removed is the rear seats. With the addition of my big n little wheels im getting here in a month, a hood and a k-member I could easily be at 3060, maybe less.
There is still a bunch of stuff I have yet to do to my car too such as a manual rack (30 lbs), seats (50 lbs), passenger airbag and bracket (14 lbs but i've been too lazy to take it out ) lightweight carpet ( 30 lbs i'm doing the sux2bu mod), wheels (50 lbs?), k-member (30 lbs), a-arms (7 lbs), hood (20 lbs), you get the picture.
30+50+14+30+50+30+7+20=231+ lbs still left to take out!
But then I have to add 9" (75 lbs) and a CM cage (50 lbs) for the track.
If you work at it and have some cash to spare, then there is no reason why you couldn't get a daily driver close to 3000 lbs when all said and done and still appear to be pretty much full interior.

I weigh in at 3045 with me in it.
I have a iron motor with sheetmedal intake.
I also have a moser 9in with 40 spline axles not narrowed.
To fix those weight problems I have a pin on hood and rear hatch with speedglass in the rear hatch.

I pulled 200lbs from interior, A/C, heater, condensor, radio etc.
You can keep all that and get pretty damn close (chassis weight) but you'll need to invest in kmember, drag brakes and pull the basic stuff.
FWIW the car weighed in at 3300 with all the basic stuff, and now weighs 2950 with some heavy safety gear. No kmember, or drag brakes.....yet. Probably 2800-2850 when it's all said and done.
