Patrick G's CheaTR cam back in action!!!
I finally got the cam installed this past weekend, and all I can say is Damn! This thing is awesome. I was really skeptical on how much sotp hp I would gain. Man was I surprised! I am tuning with hp tuners, with Patrick's help, the best I can for now, until I can get to a dyno and dial everything in right. If I pick up any more on the dyno, I won't know what to do. Starting in 1st gear and easing slowly into the throttle, at about 20-25mph it lights the tires. Keep in mind, it's an A4 with 3.23's. Without drag radials, 1st gear is now useless in a race. Even if I wait until 4k rpms before getting to full throttle, the tires start to haze, and the rear gets sideways. My stock cam never felt anything like this. The cam does seem to have quite a bit more valvetrain noise, of course I also have headers. I have my idle set about 850 to help hide the cam, and it works pretty well. You can hear the lope just slightly, and if you weren't trying to listen for it, you probably wouldn't notice it. It will probably be even less noticable after I get it ironed out on the dyno. A 650 idle gives a pretty good chop. Can't wait to get it dyno tuned, and get to the track. N2O will be next.
My thanks go out to Patrick for the help. I probably wouldn't have went with this cam if it weren't for all his posts, and getting a good deal on cam and springs didn't hurt either.
Thanks Patrick

Cool! I just installed my CheatR along with some Patriot stage IIs and an Ls6 intake. I cant drive it though because Im waiting on an adjustable master that should be here on friday. So I can only fire it up and listen to it at this point, lol. Stock idle and untuned it sounds almost stock, but inside the car it shakes a little. I cant wait to drive it.

Killer results, great cam! Thanks for sharing. Get some Nittos and head to the track while the weather's nice and cool. You're going to want a converter next I'm sure!

Great!!!.
Heard it doesn't need tuning. I will be running this cam with comp cams dual springs kit and TR pushrods. Long tube headers with manual transmission.
Do I need to tune it for CheaTR cam. Will a mail tune be enough. Any help on the tune.

Well, with the patriots and cheatr the tuners in my area recommended new injectors (99 injectors probably maxed out)which require a tune. It sure doesnt drive like it needs one. I bet cam only you could get away without a tune, but I also bet a tune would squeeze out every last bit of HP. Actually I just noticed you have headers as well. I think you will need a tune.

How about 2000+ injectors, are they enough.

How is this cam compared to Texas Speed Torquer v.2?
I am undecided. Read that TSP Torquer v.2 will be in the 400RWHP with stock heads cam only. It can be run with single springs for less valvetrain noise.
How is drivability with TSP Torquer v.2.?

I'd like to know the reason this cam is chosen to go with heads and headers when the website says it has been made with the stock heads and manifolds in mind? Is it so you don't sound like you've done a cam swap? As for myself I don't want to butt into the thread much but wanted to know what the power difference is of the CheaTR and something else from TR like the 224/224 114 LSA (The one recommended for CA emissions) ? I thought if you got that cam or others that it's in your best interest to get heads/headers for flow.
