Bearing failure.. cause?

Default Bearing failure.. cause?

the crank is a 4340 steel unit and its fine, no scoring or anyhting. was using 10w-30 oil, stock powdered metal rods, H bearings. rods #3, 4, 5. any ideas?

how tight are the bearings clearanced?

Hmm, that almost looks like the crank isn't true from what I can see in the pics. Might be a good idea to maybe have a shop look at the crank and see if it is indeed off. If it is then maybe polishing it might bring it back. As for clearnances where were your clearances set at?

not sure as this was assembled "at the factory" (crate engine)

GM crate motor or somebody else??? Eithor way I would be calling the manufacture and work out a warranty return. Big problems in that motor there.

gm crate actually. all the mains are good, just 3, 4 and 5 rods look like that.
