How do you tell what ratio gear set is in a rear end if you DON'T have the cars option code(i.e. gu2, gu5) Rear end is not in the car. I didnt want to pop the cover and try and count the teeth. So if anyone knows if there is a number or something stamped on it or something?
Thanks,

You will need to jack-up the rearend "safely" (block front tires) on jack-stands. Put the tranny in neutral and mark the driveshaft and tire/wheel. Rotate the wheel one full turn while counting the driveshaft rotations. ie: if the driveshaft turns "almost" 3 1/2 then you probably have a 3.42 ratio
Pretty simple really
Good luck and have FUN

If you spin the rotor once, the drive shaft yoke spins twice. ??
