Who here wants to sell there Firebird for one? I have always been a Firebird guy. Never driven anything else in my 18 yrs of driving. To top it off I just bought a new TA :jest: So who among us are diehard Pontiac fans?

Not sure what I've seen is the new Camaro design. Got any links to what 'could' be real?

Here is a link to artist rendeing that turns out to be darn close to what was leaked this week on the net.

GM "rightfully so" was extremely P**SED that they where. Therefore they demanded that websites take down the pictures. I am sure they are around somewhere though.

I've been driving firebirds/Trans AM's for 14 years now. I'm on my 3rd bird:
1992 Firebird 305, 1997 WS6 Trans AM, 2002 TA Firehawk .

I blame Knight Rider! ...since I loved the show as a kid, I HAD to have a bird when I was old enough to own a car. :-)

Since there are no more birds, and probably wont be for a long time, if ever, I plan on keeping this one very long-term.

That thing is just FUGLY! Whats with all the retro styles?

Bug/Mini/Stang/Charger/????

Seems like the maker of the movies is now making cars now. Have they run out of ideas?

yea, after seeing that I am definitely holdin on to the T/A. I'm a big fan of the curves and shapely lines of the late T/As and am not a big fan of the sharp blocked shape of the newer car designs. Possibly a candidate for the GF later on...

I would kill for a 5th gen Firebird.

I think the 5th gen Camaro concept is pretty sharp. I plan on driving up to the Detroit Auto Show again this year, so seeing it in person will probably solidfy my feelings towards it.

I have to admit that I bought my 'bird versus a Camaro only for it's looks. I'm a Chevy guy at heart. Since the 'bird is "Chevy-powered", I felt I got the best of both worlds. :)

Would I trade my 'bird for a 5th gen Camaro? If I wanted another new car payment then yes I probably would. Would I want to lose all the time/money I have invested in my 'bird?--probably not. Can I afford another new car payment on an artist's wages?--definitely not. :)

GM has been asking people to take them down.

I wouldn't trade either of my 'Birds for a 5th gen. I'd trade my Colorado, and have three 'Birds.

While I like the Camaro, And my Favorite Camaro is a 69 Yenko with Sidepipes. I would never trade mine. I suppose should the Firebird never come back I'd buy a used vette Years down the road.

I'll buy whatever they build. Its just too damn fun to take a V8 rwd car nobody has messed with yet and tweak it out and run some numbers. Personally, I like the 4th gen Firebirds better than any other 4th gen. I even like the looks of my silver Formula over my Hugger SS.

Someone emailed me the pics. Email me and I can forward for those who have not seen them. As others have mentioned, I'm not a fan of the retro styling efforts-I thought they should have kept evolving, refining and updating the 4th Gen shape-maybe with a few retro cues. Also I'm a TA guy would find it hard to identify with driving a Camaro though I admire them and realize that under the skin and interior, they are pretty much the same car. Lastly if this is not showing up until 2009, Chevy will probably be behind the curve with this styling by then and hopefully, I will have a used Ferrari

I like them. While I would never trade my car, I would by a new camaro(in my 14 years of driving, I've had 3 camaros and 4 Trans Am's) to park along side the WS6.

None of those look even remotely close to the actual concept that we saw a few days ago... You'll see what I mean in about 30 days.

Yeah, I just saw them. The core body looks similar, but the bumpers are different.

i would definately consider it down the line. too bad GM said that the camaro could come back one day, but the firebird is dead forever.

Doesn't mean they can't change their mind.

That new Camaro looks SWEEET! But you'll never see it. GM will be broke before that car is ever released. The "retro" style has sold a lot of cars (Ford). GM slaps "retro" NAMES on cars. Like Impala "SS" with 200+ horsepower - my Honda has more HP than that! "GTO" - That's a "GTO"? They should be ashamed!

Before it's restoration, my 1967 Firebird started and ran everyday with nearly 200K on the clock. (the way GM was) The new GM truck that I spent 40 grand on can't even display the right amount of fuel thats in its tank! Americans want cool RELIABLE cars & trucks!

GM is only looking to price the Camaro a bit closer to the Corvette. They will suck in many unsuspecting enthusiasts with another poorly made vehicle with a flashy name. Camaro "SS", "RS", ect. But maybe not. Hopefully they will get their act together and build something we can be proud of. :emb:

I like the 4th generation more, GM is too late to get on the retro train. If Dodge comes out with the Challenger I'm there, the pricing is more reasonable for the working joe.

I drove a 94 Polo Green Camaro V6 for 8 years before I picked up my 2000 TA last Febuary, and I'm partial now to the looks of the 93-97 Camaro. If I were to get another Camaro ever, it would be a 97 Polo Green SS. The 09 concept doesn't really float my boat right now.

After seeing the Road & Track stuff that was out for a brief time yesterday (before being pulled), I still like the styling of the concept Camaro. I see styling ideas taken from the first gen primarily, but I really wouldn't call it a retro design.

It's a sharp car. If things change for me and I'm financially able to get one by the time they come out, I probably will go ahead and get one :)
