Default Potential LS1 and dealership...

I posted about this in the enthusiasts section. My main question is has anyone heard of or purchased a car from a dealership called The Performance Car Store, Inc. located in Sicklerville, NJ? They seem to have alot of fbods in stock all of the time. The 3 that I'm considering (I think 2 of them come from this dealership) are: #1. 00 t/a ram air m6 leather t-tops 20k mi for 19 grand
#2 01 t/a ram air m6 leather t-tops 55k mi for 18.5 grand
#3 00 t/a ram air m6 leather t-tops 41k mi for 17 grand

Thoughts/opinions/advice? Any would be great, thanks.

The first deal seems the best but you can probably find a car with 50k on it for $10-12k instead of 17+. They go for pretty short money on these boards.

Hey Allergik I can tell ya that I have looked at f bods there at that place you are talking about when I was looking for mine back a few months ago. The ones I saw up there were allright but nothing great for the money they were asking. I would say that some were a little ragged and the one or two low mileage ones they were trying to get top dollar for, and i have heard good and bad about them but in my opinion I think you could get a better deal somewhere else.

Yeah I know what you guys are talking about. It's hard enough to find fbods around here, let alone one in good shape for a decent price. My only other option would be finding one more than 300 miles away and driving to get it (which I have virtually no time to do) or pay to have it towed here.

I've heard some not so good things about that place. Be careful.

AP2000Z28-Flood damage might not always show up on a carfax report.

Some of their cars are beat up. Some of their prices are high.

I'd go over their cars with a fine tooth comb.

Well I have a good idea of what a good price is for what I want. Obviously I'll run a carfax on their cars and I'm taking a friend of mine who knows alot about cars and LS1s with me to check everything out. Anything else I should do specifically?

dont go there!!!

i live about 30 min from there and they have 2 locations. they do have lots of performance cars. but they are ALL BEAT!! buy from either a private seller or a real dealership.

just trying to save you from getting a beaten car.

Alright so it seems the concensus is that this place isnt very good. There goes that idea. Now there are no "real dealerships" that have what I want....within 300 miles that is. I'm hesitant to buy from a private seller but that seems to be the best way to go.Anyone have advice for going through a private seller?

On a side note, a guy that I work with has a friend who is selling his 2001 ws6 for 15 grand. It has 107,xxx miles , boltons, and a small cam. I guess it's worth looking into, but worth buying? I really need something with under 50k miles. Unless I just stroked that motor...thoughts?

I personally wouldn't buy a car with 107K on the clock for $15K..especially if it was modded(internal mods nonetheless) but that's just me.

Cinnaminson, NJ ( not Pennsauken ). Yes they are pricey, and I'm not exactly sure how tough they are at bringing down asking price. Oh, and they have probably about 8-10 TA's on the lot at the moment.

Thanks guys, I'll have to check them out. Demonicbird00 or Matt98ls1, if you live close to that area, would either of you guys be willing to check out some of their cars for me once I narrowed it down to 1 or 2 I like? Just so I wouldnt have to make the drive up there for nothing and because you 2 are familiar with fbods...I'm sure you wouldnt mind test driving one for fun on a boring day haha.

i thought that but didnt think it was cinnaminson. Yeah i know they are aways around the 10 f-body count, but figured 5 would be a bare minimum for them.

Matt98ls1 where are you from in sj???
