I'm not familiar with any of those, but check out www.imaging-resource.com , you can do side by side comparisons on the cameras and they even do tests such as battery life and such. You can even compare images side to side from different cameras.

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-T1 that I got on eBay a while back for $200. 5 megapixel stills, 640x480 video. The battery lasts forever.

I have the canon elph sd400, its 5mp and I couldn't be more satisfied with it. Butterflyphoto.com has the cheapest prices I could find, and whatever you do make certain that you get the HIGH SPEED 1 gig memory card.

From the other thread....
i have a cannon elph SD400, with the HIGH SPEED 1 gig card. i ordered it from butterflyphoto.com (cheapest prices i could find. bought the package deal that came with USB reader for card, cleaning kit, high cap. battery (stock one works great too), and the 1 gig card, i had the guy on the phone upgrade me to the high speed 1 gig card. this ables you to take pictures one right after the other w/ less lag, and allows you to flip through the pictures MUCH faster than normal, a MUST with this camera. the SD450 is out now and seems to have a few better pictures. the camera and all the stuff that came with it was about 500 bux.

i love this camera, it takes badass pictures, fits in my pocket, and takes BADASS videos ;) even though you dont care about video's i think you will be pleasently suprised at the quality of them.

i uploaded 2 of them to LS1tech but it decreased the quality and size for the ls1tech video player.

That camera doesn't take photos fast enough to require high speed, does it?

I really like the Sonys, I just wish they would ditch that memory stick crap and just use SD like everyone else.

well, after much deliberation i think im gonna get either the casio ex120 or the casio ex750. seems like some problems with the 400/450.

With the highspeed card, it will take pictures over and over again pretty quickly. It takes a second or two for the flash to charge if you're using it though, nothing outrageous. The high speed card mostly helps when you are trying to look through your photos. It will flip between pictures as fast as you can press the button, even on full quality. It also allows you go go to thumbnail view, and allows you to even scroll PAGES of thumbnails, and even scroll 10 pages at a time :jest:

You can customize the sounds that it makes when you turn it on, take pictures etc.

For example, when you turn mine on, it plays a sound clip of me going "Be careful bitch!", and when you press the button to take a picture it farts :)

Its got so many freaking features, you wouldn't believe it. If you hold function and power, it starts up silently and displays a clock with the date, and if you dont like the color of the clock on the screen, you just shake the camera and it changes :pimp

I have all the sounds on my digi-cam turned off, I think it helps the batery last longer.

Contradiction.....MUCH? :p

The LCD seems to be working fine, i throw it in my pocket so much, it has a few scratches on it though. I'm going to get some clear plastic like we stick over wiring diagrams inside of controll panels at work and cut it to shape, then stick it on the LCD to protect from scratches.

The quality is nice enough for me, but I'm not into taking beauty shots, pictures like this work just fine for me! :)

Rule one from a professional photographer: Never buy a camera from a company that makes cheap watches (Casio). :P

Also know that Canon and Nikon make the best CCDs and Lenses. I would suggest the Canon.
