Default push rod length

I need a little help with the push rod length on my Z06, I have LS6 heads milled .015 Stock gaskets ( .056 ) comp 850 lifters stock rockers. I have 7.400 or 7.425 push rods I can use. Oh ya the cam is a 228 / 228 588 I 571 E lift....Thanks for any help you can give me....Frank

The 7.400s should do ya just fine, after .020" mill is when I suggest different length PRs.

Bo, with the 7.425 push rods installed with no pre-load then then with the wrench at 12oclock I get a little over a 1\4 a turn before the rocker bolt is bottomed out. Is that enough pre-load? thanks...Frank

If your gettin only 1/4 turn after 0 lash with the 7.425s then the 7.400s arent gonna be long enough. The factory PR is 7.395 or so and the factory base circle of a LS1 cam is 1.425 I think so most aftermarket cams have smaller base circles and milling the head a little will compensate for that. Something doesnt sound right but I am tired and sleepy.
