Cam options, and a few questions
Alright this is yet another cam related thread!
Anyway a few cams I am looking at are:
FMS F4 - 226"/226" .575"/.575" 114 LSA
FMS F5 - 224"/228" .588"/.576" 114 LSA
The F5 has 2 less degrees on the intake and 2 more degrees on the exhaust. What effect does this have to a dyno graph? Also the lift is pretty high. Is this going to be a noisy cam (valvetrain noise) compared to the TR grinds below?
TR 224/227 .563/.569 114 LSA
TR 227/224 .569/.563 114 LSA
With these two, the duration and intakes and switched. What effect does this have? What would an overlayed dyno of the two show?
Basically i'm looking for a strong performing DD cam for my Bolt-On A4 car. I want a 114 LSA for a smoother idle/ride so I chose the cams above. Later on I will match a stall to the dyno graph I get, it will probably be something around an SS3600-SS3800.
Also where does the CheaTR cam fall in line with these?
214/230 .601/.578 117 LSA
I guess I could open up Desktop Dyno and see what it says too. I would also like to know what kind of springs, pushrods, and lifters I should go with as they are all being changed as well. This is a stock headed 2001 LS1. TIA.

Ah, Desktop Dyno is of no help...they all come out nearly identical. That or i'm not doing it right.
Also how much cam would it take to trap 120mph in the 1/4?

Yeah I started looking at bigger ones such as the Futral F10 -
228"/228" .576"/.576" 114LSA
I looked at that TR230/224 and its on a 111 LSA...I wonder how much the dyno graph would change if you ordered it on a 114 LSA? Because of my exhaust (dumped TSP Rumbler X, may run it to the back though) I would like something that will idle smoother. A smooth cam on a cat-back car may be rough on mine.
So I guess at this point its FM10/228/114 vs TR230/224/114?
