SS soon won't be a daily driver, lets have some fun.
i'll be turning my SS into more of a track/weekend fun car soon, but will still want it to have SOME street manners. what do you think of the set up i've devised in my head?
TEA Stg. 1.5 5.3 heads
FMS F11 (228/230 i believe.)
FAST 90/ NW 90 TB
Replacing my Pacsetters with QTPs
True Duals
3600-3800 Stall
and to top off the motor, a TNT 150 shot.
this is a 2000 A4 with 117k on the clock. spare me all the "save for a shortblock!!" because i already am once the motor is set up the way i want it i'll be focusing on suspension, weight, rear end. etc etc.
so hows it sound? too sedate? pretty potent? give me some guidance. btw, i was looking for maybe 415-430rwhp NA, and then whatever the n20 gave me, i'd be happy with.

I'd think about going bigger on the stall... 4000. As fo dyno #'s.. I'd think about what you want the car to do at the track first, once you have that # in your head, go from there.
For what it's worth, there's 2 ways to go about bulding a car.. do the motor first and break everythign else in line, or do all the driveline and chassis stuff first, then do the motor. Look at it this way, you can do the motor first, and break everythign in it's way, and replace as needed, or replace all that stuff first, sell your old used unbroken parts and recoup some costs, and then do the motor. Up to you... but I'd get the car ready for whatever times you want to run first.. then add the nitrous to the stock motor, readjust the chassis so it's working again with the added power, then build the motor.. but that's me.
Oh, and that A4, I'd think about that... not sure if you can live without the overdrive, but if the car's going to be a track/weekend car, you may be able to. that being said, a th400 might be a good idea, the strenth, reliability are really good,a nd will take all that it sounds like you will throw at it. I promise, a A4, even the best built one with a built motor and a 150 shot will not last long.. I dont' care what anyone tells you.

i appreciate the help guys, i didn't want to get toooo obsessed with ET numbers, living in Vegas the altitude here sucks. i'd rather concentrate on MPH, i'm looking for hopefully 120ish NA, and possibly 125-130 on spray.
the tranny is something i thought about for only a short while, didn't put a whole lot of thought into it. i suppose i always assumed i'd get a Dr. Evil 4l60e, but maybe i should look into a TH400 with or without the overdrive unit.
thanks again for the help guys

I would do the Chassis, Suspension, and Drive Line first. Then take care of the trans and stall. Last but not least do the engine. There is also a lot of weight you can strip along the way.
Build a car from the back forward. Not breaking parts will make Ebay a good source for future investments.
