Default 10 pt with removable door bars...I searched

Couldn't find a definitive answer to this question. I plan on coming out pretty hard this year and am looking to eventually run 9.70's or so at about 139-142 based on weight gearing and power. With this I obviously need a 10 pt, but are the removeable door bars that are legal on a 6 pt still good for a 10 pt to cert me down to 9 flat? Or am I stuck?

I daily drive this car and at 6'4" and 235 lbs, I need all the interior space I can get when cruising in town.

Tried to search but couldn't find anything.

You can get swing outs and put a pin in both ends instead of just one...I think, I've never seen it done but I don't see why you couldn't.

I believe I remember seeing or being told that it wasn't legal when you are going that fast.

swingouts are legal down to 8.50

just need 3/8 pins/bolts in double shear.

Yup! We verified this while our car was being certified by NHRA headquarters.

Does anyone have any idea how much something like this would cost for the cage, whether its prebuilt or custom made?

I would probably be interested in the same thing.

Thanks jenibella. Looks like I can retain some comfort on the street
