Default *ADDED VIDEO LINK* Forged 347 & ETP 225 heads finally running :)

Yes. I am so flipping happy now that the car is fired up, running, holding idle, oil pressure and all else. What a weight off my shoulders. Today at 3:55pm, I dry cranked it a few to get oil flowing. I then checked everything one last time, plugged in the coil packs and fuel pump relay, cranked and she started purring, what a beautiful sound
Tomorrow I will change the oil, adjust the pinion angle, and seal up an exhaust leak b/w the drivers manifold and cat conv. Then its off to driving and enjoying it for the w/e before I fly mainland bound Sunday night.

LS6 Block 347, Stock crank, billet caps, ARP Studs, Callies Rods, ARP Rod Bolts, Diamond -2cc Pistons, Morel Lifters, EDC Cam 231/242 .637/.622 @ 114*lsa, Cloyes Hexadjust Timing Set, JWISS Chain, LS6 Oil Pump and Valley Cover, ETP 11* 225 Heads, Trick Flow 8.100" pussrods, Stock Rockers, ASP Underdrive pulley, LS6 Intake (needs to go in a bad way....will Santa bring me a 90/90? ), clearanced stock valve covers (no baffles or oil shield). Stock Water pump, manifolds, cats, y pipe.
Pushing through the ATI 8" 4000stall converter, Rossler Trans braked TH350, stock Driveshaft, and stock POS 10bolt. Nitrous will be hooked back up later. As will the Kooks 1 7/8" headers and Y Pipe.

Still needing to get for finishing touches:
LSX 90mm Intake
Nick Williams 90mm TB
9" Rear 3.90 gears
Bogart Gold RT's
Strange DA Shocks (one o my QA1's needs to be sent in so why not upgrade?)

I should be able to run the rollers around 6/7 Jan. Will attempt to get some pulls with stock exhaust and then next day do the Kooks if I can work it in the schedule. Thank gosh this puppies up and running again, seems like forever.

Charlie

Thanks guys. Yes, it has been a long winding, slippery when wet road. For those unknowing, I ordered the shortblock in Dec 04, had it being shipped to Hawaii while in I was still in Afghanistan, and I got it upon my return in April 05. The Shortblock sat on my back Lanai (back patio area for non-hawaiians) waiting various parts, most importantly the ETP 11* heads, which werent even released yet. Now, its in and sounds great. Will try to get some video this morning, while its on the lift and maybe some later today driving around a bit. It does sound slightly more aggressive and seems to have better response than the old TSP 231/237 cam. Idle was almost on from the old cam, only had to adjust the TB Set screw a hair. So happy. Time to go drain oil, adjust pinion angle and get some vid.

Congratulations on getting your car running. From all of the top of the line mods it sounds like it will be a beast. I was just curious why you opted for the 225's vs. the 215's. I'm trying to determine which ones I will go with myself and they recommended 215's for my stock LS6.

Ksett, 225's are more of compromise for me. I wanted to go with the 245's for more available flow to better suit the cam. Instead I figure Strip/Street duty and 225 it was.

Ed, should finally get some numbers out this beast in Jan. I am going to make a couple lazy test the tune type passes tonight. Jan when I get back from seeing my son and the family, its time to hit the juice again. So far this cam feels "mild", easy cold starts, smooth idle and pulls hard.

xssive, I am still worried, I glance at the oil pressure more then the traffic. I also been monitoring the coolant temp etc. I figure if its going south, I cant stop it and no matter what it will need to be pulled. So, if this one goes, its 402/408 time, maybe larger

That's pretty much what J-Rod said about the "vette's" cam...

... until he drove it ...

Enjoy the holidays with family and let me know how things go once the testing starts. You know where to find me. Under a lot of snow!
