Default Holy Pressure ratio bat man... BW turbo maps

Ok here is a popular garret compressor wheel.. Look at it then look at the Borg/Schwitzer maps. http://not2fast.com/turbo/maps/gt35rcompress.gif

Now check out these Borg Warner wheels..

S200

Jezbus fliping cripes... Not so much the lbs/min but the P/R Anybody want to run a 4.0 pressure ratio?

S300 Still pretty high P/R a touch more lbs/min

S400 high P/R and Huge lbs/min

If you want to compare apples to apples, here ya go.

This is the GT42 compressor map. At first glance the B/W compressor maps look like they have wider islands of efficiency, for the most part this is just the way they scaled their map (along the bottom) in comparison to the Garrett maps. The GT4202 compressor wheel will go HIGHER in P/R (not that anyone here will run over 40 lbs. of boost) and potentially flow MORE at 4.0 PR (91lbs/min versus 87 lbs/min). This wheel should be close to the S400 in size.

The new BW units are awesome indeed, but getting your hands on them is the hard part. The S400 is a replacement for the GT42. Only problem with the S400 is the A/R ratio. Its only available in a 1.32A/R. As for power, the S400 on our compound diesels will outpower the GT42 by a wide margin. Turbine wheel is the big difference between the two. The S-trim wheel is smaller and chokes off much earlier.

Well... I was originally looking at the GT35 vs the S200 for twins..

How about a 4.4 pressure ratio with room to spare?

They are great units indeed, give us a call, I sometimes have a few of the S-series units on the shelf. Problem with them is typically the A/R ratios are quite large.

Nothing an aftermarket turbine housing cant cure... Kind of like the holsets I have seen on 2.0's.

ATS is running them forcompounds on the CTDs..

I wonder which wheel is in the aurora 5000... That one looks like a holset compressor cover.

It can run comfortably as a single at 60psi..

Their aurora 2000 is a s200?

ATS is using KKK front halfs for their compound twins. Our compound twins use BW's. We tried Garretts for a while, but they wouldn't sustain the high pressure ratios.

4.4 pressure ratio is around 50lbs. of boost. That is obviously a high pressure ratio wheel. If you look at the bottom of the compressor map, it's only going down to a PR of ~1.5. The Garrett goes down to ~1.3 PR. These areas of the map are MUCH more likely to be used in a twin combo of that nature on the F-body. I can't say I know of ANY F-bodies out there running even close to 50lbs. of boost (not saying they aren't out there, I just don't know of any). The GT35R comp. wheels are more suitable for the F-body in twin applications than the S-200 comp. wheel (at least in my opinion).

I'd rather have a turbo efficient in the area I use than the area I don't.

I'm a boost junky...

On alcohol I can run a bit more boost..

I'll figure out a way to keep the heads down.....
