Thumbs up It runs

Started up PurEvl's car today and went to a nice 800rpm,18" of vacuum Car is pretty quiet with 2 bullet muffler's.No leaks in any welds or oil lines. Now I just got to take apart the intercooler piping, paint it and redo the coolant lines a better way.

So a few notes

1- Drilling the oil pan is no problem on the car.Took me 5 minutes to drill/tap the pan and the grease caught about 98% of the filings.

2-The stock fans fit no problem

3-This took forever

Link to idle video- This was on first startup after it sat for 4+ months so the lifter's are noisy

I would figure a stock car with a flowmaster or so. Not bad for a 408ci setup, but I'm sure it will get loud under boost

fabbing a custom turbo setup is ALWAYS time consuming as all hell... always worth the hard work and effort in the end tho! (provided you dont suck at it, haha)

KAOS it was the Phamspeed tubular setup but those guys ditched it because there was to many issue's and they weren't being fixed, so the went with the truck manifold setup.

Slowhawk this car should make big power can't wait to see the numbers. PurEvl must be happy as hell its almost done.

Question

I'm glad to see another project from hell coming to an end! What is it with these turbo companies! I'd like to see Edelbrock or another large company come up with one, just like Edelbrock did for the Honda's. Bob

slowhawk what are you using to paint the piping? I was wondering If I could powdercoat the piping or would I have to get them coated.

The charge pipes could be powder coated, but all the hot parts will need to be HPC/Jet hot coated.

Stock computer,MA ect. The car has a wideband and thats about it.I prefer the MA as blow through and we convert alot of Vortech kit's to work like that.

The plan is to run it on the dyno and see how quickly we run out of injector (old 60lber's) and go from there.Possibly switching to 96lber's and a BS3.

The BS3 is worth it just for the closed loop WB....

It will idle alot better too.. The standalone can better control large injectors for a happier idle..

A GM MAF on a mass airflow translator was one of my favorite DSM mods...

Our stock sensor goes oh sh8t when a big enough turbo is installed..
