Default ORY vibrating/hitting driver side floor board! best way to fix?

installed hooker lts and ory, and now the ory hits the drivers side floor board upon starting the car and vibrates against the floor board too.

what are some of the common ways to fix this, or does some shop make a block/brace for this issue?

thanks everyone!!!

If you have driven the car a lot it will be wasy to find out here exactly it is hitting. An easy fix is to beat the hell out of the floor pan with a small sledge hammer.

LOL, i know its hitting the drivers side flow board, right where the ory, curvers towards the I-pipe.

I could pound the board up with a hammer or I was thinking of fabricating a metal/rubber stop piece: I could a 3" exhaust hanger, flat stock, and a block of rubber to maybe brace against the floor.

I was hoping someone already sells an item like that.

either way the hammer woud be fun too!

Loosen the front and rear clamps on the Y pipe.
Pick up a bunch of pieces of shim material, like
1x2 lumber or 3/4" copper "T" fittings or whatever.
In my experience 1/2" is not enough but 3/4" will
be OK. If you have soft motor mounts or a lot
more engine torque than me, go for more spacing.

Work your hand along the pipe, anywhere you hit
a tight spot jack the pipe down with a pry-bar and
insert a shim. All the way down both sides, and
don't stop until you get down the I-pipe. Then put
floor jack to the lowest point, lift until the body
rises, and retighten everything.

big heater hose jammed in between floor and ypipe is what i did, it works pretty damn good too. cheap, cost about $1 or 2 for a small length of hose.

Thats what I was thinking of doing, even after beating 2 spots under the car it's still hitting in one spot.

I also just installed polly mounts, maybe I'll try the shim spacer and retighten if not the hose in going in

I used the hanger that ThunderRacing sells. When I went to install e erything I left all the clamps/joints just snug. Then I had a buddy put downward pressure on the Y-pipe with a prybar. Then I tightened everything down. Once everything was tight I would grab teh Y-pipe and shake the **** out of it. It took a couple times, but it's solid now with no banging. I've done 4K clutch drops on heated DRs, as well as some power shifting with no banging.

Now if I could just get rid of those damn leaks at the collectors...

Ditto on the pics. Where does it bolt to the car? (I know the Y Pipe side) But if this bolts to one of the mounts already there, are do you locate this mount somewhere else?

It mounts right where the pipe is hitting the floor. I think there is a metal heat shield right close to it and the hanger uses the closest bolt to the y pipe. Very easy install. Everyones hanger should be pretty much in the same location.

Poly motor mounts didn't do the trick?
