Well, no point in spending money on your stock catback if you're not going to keep it more than a few months. It would cost some cash to have a muffler shop cut the muffler out and weld in a pipe. So, if you plan to get a new catback soon anyway, you could just pull your stock catback off now and run a open Y-pipe, maybe with a turndown on it. That would be loud, if that's your goal.

I've run stock manifolds, stock cats, with nothing past the stock y-pipe. Its definitely loud but for me it was very liveable. I dd like that for 3 months. Of course before that I had a cutout that was open for over a year.

I've run manifolds with cats and no muffler on 2 of my LS1s. Sounds pretty good IMO. I just removed the muffler and had a pipe fabb'd up to take its place so I'd still have my tips.

cut the muffler off and grind the end up alot to make it look like it fell off and put it in the trunk, when officer pull you over tell him it fell off. One of my friends did it for about a year until the same cop pulled him over twice in 1 month , he got away with it for a while anyways.

not a real big prob out here...besides they are not to strict on the whole noise thing...i have a lincoln mark (the boat) VIII with LT's x-pipe and aero turbine glass packs...and drive it around for a while w/ no bother...and that mother is loud!...

Yeah I'm running an open Y on stock manifolds and cats right now until get enough money to put my new catback on. Kinda rough, but doesn't sound too bad.

Glad you like it. I always loved how mine sounded. I'd always get asked what kind of exhaust I had on it
