Default jet-hot headers 01 f-body

I just got a set of Jet-Hot headers with Y pipe and cats. I am gonna install them tomorrow. Is anybody running this set-up, If so any recomendations on installation? It is adverstised that O2 extensions are not needed, is this correct? i'd hate to start something and have to wait 5-6 days for parts. thank you.

^ I've never realized that howto doesn't have F-bod LT install.
Hmm, do a search and you'll find lots of LT install info.

You need O2 extensions for the rear O2's in the Y-pipe (to get them to reach) if you have not deleted them via edit, or if you're not using O2 Simulators.
Check out www.ls1howto.com for header install write up.
So extensions for the front O2s are not needed? I'm planning on picking up a set of Jet-Hots very soon too.

I have a pair of JetHot's and unless the changed the location of the collector and bung, you WILL need o2 extensions for the FRONT o2's or a set of bosche 13111's. The rear o2's fit with out extensions.

as far as the install goes, I had to undo the left motor mount and raise the motor to clear the machining tab.

I also needed extensions with my Jet-Hots for the front O2's.

Bah, it's been a while, my bad. Front O2's are the ones that need extensions, as mentioned above. I replaced the LT's on my car a year ago, but I had run the extensions on them 3 years ago, so memory faulted.

You don't have to do that at all........

I have Jet Hot headers and installed them myself.

Remove the steering link and you'll have plenty of room.

You might have to notch the K-member on the drivers side, my one tube was hitting/rubbing. A little notching on with a dremel did the trick, been fine ever since (2+ years)

You will need 02 extensions. Only use factory GM F-BODY 02 SENSORS, if not you take the chance of getting slow switching codes...

I do my own work as well... It's much easier to remove one bolt and roll the motor than to fuss with the steering linkage or other various notching/cutting techniques. But don't take my word for it - give it a shot on you next header install.
