Just got the phone call on my newly rebuild 4l60E for my 2002 Z28!I have had the car since Sept & got it off the truck that way!I have never really been able to drive it & see what its got!I druel over every ls1 i see & wonder what kind of power its gonna have!
Im about to find out in a half hour!Waiting on a ride out there to pick it up.Ill let yas know if im not in jail from excessive driving!!(LOL)
Im pretty stoked but with my luck ill turn the 1st corner & something will be wrong because they didnt do the tranny right!(thats the way it seems to go for me lately)
Gottta run :) :) :)

Be carefull. The rain and rear wheel drive don't like eachother!! So wait till its dry outside to get heavy footed..........especially since you don't know the car yet. Get aquainted with the car on dry days and then ease into the rainy ones...............just my 2 cents

I would have to agree with that since I found out the hard way by slamming my car into a curb and doing about 3 grand in dammage about a year after I had it. All better now though.

lol sheeeeez i got my car & the minute I got in it a huge azz rain storm!!!Was raining so hard I could barely see the road!So I drove it home & then took the wife & daughter out to eat!
Some SVT Stang came up behind me but I was goood! The trans guy told me to not hammer it until i get it broke in good.Couple weeks he said.He is warranting the trans for 3 years.Unless i shear something off!!
So i still dont know what she has.I drove my kids 95 z28 today & dusted a rice burner that thought he wanted some of me!!!Dang those camaros are like magnets.Attract all the peeps thinking they got something to beat me>I slid Justins camaro through 3 gears & he wanted no more after eating some rocks!!!!That LT1 is one HOT car.Hope my LS1 is as hot!

Stock LS1s are faster than stock LT1s, so you won't be disappointed. Ellis rebuilt mine & it held up fine to 500hp, 1.7 60' launches on 315 drag radials with a 3200 stall & 4.11s. WOT shifts into 4th gear & downgearing into 3rd at hi speeds are about the worst things you can do to the tranny. Have fun!!!

so when i am driving regularly should I keep the trans in drive or overdrive.Everyone has an opinion!!!Or even when i WOT at low speed should i keep it in drive?
I didnt build it to racing standards but it does have the beast sunshell High perf boost valve, new drum, larger band ect ect.Should be able to handle up to 500hp.Although ill prob only get to 400 to 450.
I did give it one lil wot shift tonight & that thing dang near did a wheel stand!!!Also the ASR i was worried about didnt kick in when the wheels spun a bit!

When I race I leave mine in 3rd. I only let mine shift into 4th 2 or 3 times at WOT & when Ellis rebuilt it, some parts showed unusual wear. Downgearing is the worst thing. And I did that quite a bit.....

well i got home from work early today thinkin it was apretty OK day for a test run on my new transmission.Since last night was a wash!!Literally...so i pull into the driveway & my son & his friend are pressure washing the driveway.Hmm thats really weird cause he wouldnt do that unless I asked him too...Yep hes shaking his head & i see transmission fluid pouring outta my car!
Nice ...well i got my 30 miles in!!! Anyhow what it was is the previous owners had cut the line to the trans cooler & spiced it with rubber hose. The hose blew & i got my car drenched in fluid. It was everywhere.I called the Trans guy & he had it towed to his shop & replaced it all & reserviced the transmission. Was real good about since he never touched that part of the trans lines.Really made my day when i seen all that fluid on the ground!Anyhow thats the reason i went to a local shop & this guy came highly recommended. He took care of it & got me my car back tonight all cleaned up & workin good!!!In all actuality it dropped two quarts.I only put maybe 30 miles if that on it!@!!!
Runs & shifts good now!Hope it stays that way cause the trans guy is going to mexico for a week!!!

You did WHAT? lol, no wonder you have that thing so tight to the ground now :judge:

I *know* you have been sipping off the wife's morphine drip for saying that :engarde:

I thought pacific raceways and bremerton were the only tracks around here.
And with the club you guys are starting, most of us are spread out horribly! Horribly cause I have to drive at least an hour to hang out with these guys! Good guys too..............
That really sucks! So is your club for just F-bodies or what? And did you know we have a NW Fbody clkub already started! Its pretty impressive! Lots or real nice cars..................
Hey, how's come we don't get together? The only time we get together is to race!

Mission Raceway (http://www.missionraceway.com/index.html) is in Canada. If border crossing is short then it is about half an hour to get up there. Quite a few of the newbies running pro or rail start there then head over to the Molson track - easiest way into sponsorship.
They are overdue for an F-Body club but my guess is it will be operated out of Canada somewhere, not the states.
Come to think of it...might be kinda fun to run the Mission F-Body group against NW FBody come this summer. Just an F-Body race for points only. Santa, you payin' attention? ;)
Welcome to the group Dave, sounds like you are starting your son out the right way
