Thanks for the hellos from USA but actually Im from Boston. Ive been in Beijing for 12 years and imported my TA from Boston to Beijing. check out my website and you can read the details.

There's not much street racing here. There's a local race track but motorsports here is just beginning. Im a regular at the track but just for fun.

If you come to Beijing give me an email and ill set you up with a good looking tour guide. :)

Welcome. Man, that is too cool! I was going to ask how you got your Trans Am over there? My girlfriend is originally from Lanzhou, but she's a U.S. citizen now. If she ever relocates there to open a business, I may go with her.

To answer some questions.

The gas here from Chinese companies such as SinoChem is low quality, so im told, comes in octane ratings from the lowest 91, 93, 97 to highest of 98. The latter (which i use) is advertised for big bore engines (MB, BMW) and costs 5.13 yuan per liter. 4 liters is about 1 gallon. 5.13 yuan is about .65 (cents). The roads here are from very good (some expressways similar to Rt 128 Boston) to very bad (pot holes, dirt and truck crap on road). My biggest road problem is the speed bumps which seem to be everywhere-- because I lowered my car 3inches (before i imported it to China). Ive had to fix the exhaust pipe at least 4 times in one year due to it hitting speed bumps- even at low speed under 3mph. Now, I avoid parking lots, school entrances, car washs , driveways etc. that have speed bumps. Turbo ricers are very common here but they still cannot compete with the TA's big V8--the only exception are the race-ready turbos. There are a few Ferraris around Beijing and a new Porsche dealship just opened up. You can see some of these on my website. Sorry if I missed any questions.. feel free to ask more. Cheers,

Welcome to the site and I am glad to hear someone is representing the 4th Gen Firebird in China.

BTW. I was in Beijing back in 1998 and a Firebird on th streets there would definately stand out of the crowd. If I was living in China and especially a large city like Beijing I would certainly want to have my 2001 Trans Am with me.
