Default How many guys running 396-398 CID?

I would like to see results from running a 4.00-.03 and 3.900 STROKE with boosted applications?

With the setup we have a 25cc pistons would put the 370 around 8.1 C/R, but with a 398 that would put us around 8.6 C/R. We are going to be running alot of boost on this application from Twin GT3076 Turbos.

So what do u think guys... 370 with 8.1 C/R or 396 with 8.6 C/R? Both will have the same crank, pistons, rods, bolts, etc.... and also the same price.

i would choose a lower compression ratio then more CI
youll probably be more in the effective range of the turbo

If your wanting alot of boost, think about getting a T4 inlet turbo. Those tiny units will cause high EGT's and backpressure problems.

Its the AVO kit for a GTO and we got the largest A/R which was 1.00. The Turbo is rated at 55lbs. The goal was 800rwhp with these cute turbos. If we reached the goal then we are happy and if not we will start looking at upgrading the turbos it self. They are testing the same kit with larger turbos now such as the GT35R's and we are waiting to see how it goes.

I am running a 398 with a twin t3/t4 setup. I haven't upped the boost past 8.5 PSI so i am not sure how bad the turbos will choke the motor out with more power. It would have been best if i would have stuck with a 370 or maybe even destroked it to a 350 (if that's even possible) because i don't need the cubes.

We are going with a 370. I think a 398 would be a better idea for a SC'd setup.

I went with 4.03 Bore X 3.875 Stroke for a nice legendary 396 CID
