Default Heads And Cam

what heads/cam setup do you guys recommend for an A4 WS6? im lookin for a setup that is good enough to get me into the low 12's high 11's(if better, than thats cool too). i know i'll need a converter to help out but i want to get a heads/cam first. it will see the track occassionally, but i want somethin for street racing. yes it is my daily driver, and gas mileage is not an issue. i plan to someday get a turbo or spray, maybe both. any input is greatly appreciated. TIA

AFR 205 heads and vinci 055 cam

it's what they used in the project AFR corvette to get there. i'm sure you can do better with the f-body.

you do a cam and converter and be in the 11's...no need for heads and unless you really want them....i went 12.1-12.2 with a cam and LT's....now i went with a bigger cam and converter

No need for heads...blasphemy!

If you want the most out of any cam you need heads to match. An engine is an air pump...match all the components and they all work together.

I am running a cam only setup and probably will be until at least next year. I'd like to see what I can do. That said, if I could afford the heads I want right now, I would have them. Heads do help. Not only do they free up more horsepower, they significantly increase torque and power under the curve. For what you want to do, here is what I would recommend...I'd go with AFR 205's no matter what, but I'm recommended three different cams depending on what you want...and listing matching stalls:

1. Mild idle, stealthy
-AFR 205's
-AFR 224/228 cam
-3500ish stall

2. Good power, midrange/top end (I'm running the same cam and stall)
-AFR 205's
-G5X2 (232/240, .595/.608, 114)
-3800ish stall

3. BIG power, NASTY top end, decent idle
-AFR 205's
-HPE 'S' cam (238/242, .608/.612, 115)
-4000+ stall

I would go with any of these three. Keep in mind, none of them will be great without a converter. Setup 2 and 3 would also be awesome if you want to spray.
