Default General questions on 9" rears

First off, my rearend grenaded on me not long ago. It held up for a long time though and through some 1.6 short times. As soon as I swapped to a manual though, it went

Anyhow, I really haven't got the slightest idea on what I want/need. Naturally, search is down, so that's no good. Car is now a 500/500 car on a 150 dry shot and hopefully will be nearing 600/600 on a 200 wet shot. That's about all the power I plan on adding to it. The car is driven on the street a ton and I want to keep it that way, but I also want to dump the clutch at 6k on a set of slicks and hold on for dear life. So, what's the strongest way I can go and still be decently streetable? I don't know if I want/need a Detroit locker, or if the True Trac would suffice? If I do need a Locker, is that streetable? What spline axles should I go with? I don't need my ABS, so that's not an issue to me.

I was looking around and found this unit :

http://www.driveline-solutions.com/s...xm=on&ppinc=1a

DLS Ford 9in Street Assemb. F-Body

I was just wondering what carrier I need. If I even need brake backing plates. And if I need anything in the ABS department. I don't need ABS so I'm assuming I can just not order it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I run their 9" in my race car and I run a spool with 35 spline axles. Being that your car is a M6 I would stay away from a Detroit locker and go with a True-trac. I have seen 31 spline axles go into the high 8's but if you ever go that fast you are going to need a spool.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/gears-axles/301832-how-many-people-running-31-spline-axles-their-9-inch.html Read these.
If you don't want ABS you can order the rear without it.

I'd run the 35 spline axles. I went to site with calculator for which axle to use, but it doesn't calculate your vechiles weight or what rpm you leave at. I'm sure those 31 spline axles would be enough for a light car, car not leaving hard, and a under powered car. The numbers that moser gives you is right but are probably tested under a slow turning machine not, one that excert's all the power in one instint like you would be doing at the track.

I have 35 Splines.. Overkill... 31 would be fine... Lots of guys in the 9 sec brackets with 31 spline. I agree with the truetrack... Do they make them for a 35 spline?

Thanks guys. I had thought that the True-Trac was weaker than the Locker, I guess I was incorrect?

NASCAR runs the Truer-trac's on their road courses and they run 700hp through them.
