most people will tell you that the stock wires are fine for almost any application. The wires are so short in our cars that the resistance isnt that big of a deal.

Exactly. I agree 100%.

NGK TR55s will work great with stock wires. I've been using that combo for years.

Only reason why you should consider getting new wires is either:

a) appearance reasons (want a different color, etc.)
b) stock wires are worn out/damaged

I had no problems with my stock wires using the NGKs. When I got the TR6s I just ordered up a set of MSDs for the heck of it, they work great as well.

You wont hurt anything by going bigger, but the stockers are adequate

if you do want bigger wires... the GMPP wires are about $60 list, and about $40 at gm parts direct. P/N is 12495519. They are 8mm, and are supposed to fit just as good as stock, and are red like the MSDs.

or;
c) b)above and you do not want to pay the stock wire prices, when there are great aftermarket wires for less $$.

I have used them all and not had an issue with any of them but I got a really good deal on my Thundervolt wires and they match my underhood scheme.
