Default Anyone in the Houston area work at Circuit City? Need help w/Christmas gift exchange

I received a laptop for Christmas, having no clue whatsoever that I'd actually get one. Anyhow, its really not what I was looking for and wanted to exhange it, but the relative who bought it for me was unable to find the receipt. I called Circuit City explained to them the situation and they looked it up manually. Well they paid cash, so looking it up by check or credit card was out of the question. Then I gave them all the phone numbers it could of possibly been, but no luck. Lastly, they looked it up by name, the name came up, but not the item. So unfortunately for me, there's nothing they can do. I'm stuck with this laptop that I'd like to exchange, but I'm not able to because I can't provide any info that shows that this item was purchased. The box has never been opened. It has its factory seals that are still intact and untampered with. It even has Circuit City tape on it and a Circuit City sticker that says PAID all over it. So there's no doubt that it was purchased from a Circuit City. Anyhow, just wondering if there was anyone who worked at a Circuit City in the Houston area, preferably in the south side, that could do something for me? I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

That's goign to be a tough one. You'll be super lucky to get out of this one. You might just have to stick it up for sale somewhere online and spend the $$$ on your car.

I wanted/needed a laptop, so if someone who works at Circuit City could do it for me, then I'll exchange it. Otherwise, I guess I'm gonna have to sell it outright. The laptop sells for $1030 from Circuit City and has a mail in rebate for $130.

Damn, with taxes, it comes out to be $1115! Sure is a pricey laptop. If nothing can be done, would anyone be interested in buying it?

Damn! Too bad for me. If I could exchange it, that would be great. But if I had to sell it, I guess that would be ok too. Just gotta find someone to buy it.

Doesn't Wal Mart have a no receipt policy? If so, see if they sell that same one and get one more to your liking.

Here's a question I'm likely to regret, but what's wrong with that laptop?

chupr0kabra, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. It has never been opened.

PEDRO, I need/want a laptop, asked for one for Christmas for ***** and giggles knowing I wouldn't get one, got one, but it wasn't the brand I preferred.

LS1LUNATIC, I didn't ask, but if they were able to offer me that, then they would of mentioned it. I think the amount is too much for them to do that.

By the way, Walmart doesn't have much of a selection on laptops, and the one I have they don't carry.
