Default LS2 heads

Will stock LS2 heads bolt up to a stock LS1 Gen III block on a 98 camaro? Which head gaskets to use? Cometic? plan on porting out the LS2 heads.

Theyll work, but expect to only see a mere 10 or so HP gain. Unless youre getting these for a super bargain, look into some of the sponsor's ported heads. Both patriot and livernois have sub $1K CNC ported 234 heads. 243 is the casting number for the ls2/ls6 head.

not true. The new ls7 heads have a 12 degree valve angle, but the ls2 heads are 243 castings, same exact casting and same 15 degree angle valves as the ls6 heads
