I was looking for the madman ones, I read about them on here a while back but now I can't find them. I think they were just bolt on bars, nice, simple and easy to install. I'm going to be needing a set for spring time so I hope someone will post up about them. If I remember right he only made a set amount of them, so I don't know if he still has any or would still make them. I'd feel a lot better about getting lift off if I had a little protection for the landing lol.

He called them SYA bars or save your *** bars. If search was working you could look it up.

I was just reading about them in an old post and someone said you need an aftermarket k-member for them to fit. Is that true?

Yeah, they won't work with the stock K-member.

Wasn't the price of these SYA bars kind of high though? I could be wrong, but I was thinking they were about $400-$500?

Then again, it would be less expensive than replacing anything in the bottom of the engine.

The bars run $100.00 and are disposable. You smash them instead of the headers and oilpans.

Madman is it mounted to the k-member with the rack-n-pinion mounting bolt?

Man, I was way off... I thought they were more expensive.

This is for two bars correct?

There's no way to make a set for the stock K member is there? I'd be intrested for a set this spring.... just in case. Not sure what's gonna happen when I hit the transbrake button off a 5000 converter....

The stock k-member would more than likely protect your oil pan on a hard nose down.

Understood.. but a set of bard to absorb the impact wouldn't hurt. I plan to swap the whole front end over to LW stuff... just don't wanna have to do it because I screw up and let off instead of pulling 2nd gear and trying to ride it out, should the front end come up in a big way.

R series shocks for the front are probably gonna happen as well before I get to the track.. will the set compression with a stock K be enough to not have to be concerned? Car made 403 rwhp cam only M6, now has a good set of ls6 heads on it, probably in the 430 to 450 rwhp range before the th400 goes in... after teh swap I'm guessing about 370 to the tires give or take. Maybe I'm not even making enough power to be concerned?
