Default Ssra???

OK my Camaro has a Loudmouth exhaust system, an airlid, K&N air filter, Ls1 Edit, 3.73 gears, 160 thermostat. Anyone know about how much power I can expect if I install a SSRA kit?

If that were true, everyone would have one.

I had one. 117 vs. 118mph on my cam only setup. About as good as a little tailwind. It's a little on the voodoo side of things, but eh, what the heck, every little thing helps I guess.

After I posted this, the manufacturer included longer screws in the kit. Hehehehe....

Being that a chasis dyno is stationary, who knows?

To make sure it doesn't fall off when you drop clutch @ 5000 rpm.

It is a very worthwhile mod IMO. The HP gains won't show on a dyno, but it is worth at least a tenth in the 1/4 and a bit more in better air.

If you are going from no air induction modification to a SSRA, you will be very pleased.

I got one of the early versions that were made of brittle Polyethylene and not real durable, but it is currently in use (pieced together after many repairs) and is serving a good purpose. The metal version would be your best bet.

Good luck!!

I put it back on the car, until I ripped off the front portion again on a parking curb. After that, I used nuts and bolts and a ton of black masking tape. Worked like a charm.

Would I buy another? Maybe.

Ah ok. Thanks a lot for the info guys. It should be a decent mod for my car cause the only induction I have is from the SS hood and we all know how great that works.

I don't know. Sounds like a very specific claim.

Maybe?

I had the free-mod before but it pulled too much dirt into the filter so i had to close it up, but when I had it it made a difference I could actually feel, so 10-15 HP sounds pretty reasonable to me.

If dirt in the air filter is a concern, skip the SSRA. If you want to squeeze every ounce of HP from your car (as most here do) then the SSRA is proven. The 10-15 rwhp is evident in track ETs, but not on a dyno. It is worth the $$$ IMHO.

Went from 106 to 111.7 at the track with a stall and the ssra. I know that the stall didn't give me the full 5mph gain.
