Default zexel torsen question

Okay i was told when i bought this rear that it was a slp take out diff i thnk a zexel torsen, when i went to change the axles it didnt have the normal round pin that you take out so you can pull the axles out it had a steel square piece, I dont rember if it was facing up or down when i pulled it out and i cant tell if it matters or not. Anybody know? Thanks Mike

Should only go in one way? Isn't there a hole at the top for the bolt to go through and slots milled in the sides for the ends of axles to slide in? May not exactly like yours, but close. A Torsen and a T2R2 with the paddles installed:

Yes there is a loop only on one end that the little bolt goes threw but you can spin the center square 180 and it will still fit fine, just wondering if it matter wich way it goes in.
