Stud Problem

Stud Problem
I have a bit of a problem. I bought a drysump system for my LS1 conversion and it's a shallow one, it's so shallow that when I sat it on my engine the studs kept it from touching the gasket. So the way I see it I have two options, either grind the studs down to the nut or replace the studs with bolts. Either way I need to pull the studs. How would I go about this?

All you have to do is double nut the stud. put two nuts on the stud, jam them into each other by turning them opposite directions with a couple wrenches. You will then be able to turn the bottom nut counterclockwise - which jam agains the top one, grabbing the stud and taking it out.
good luck!

Cool, I got them out. I was taking the nut off of one of the studs and the stud just ended up coming out so I tried another and all of them came out that way. Should I use some bolts where the studs were or should I just grind down the extra length on the stud and use them?
