Default cam break-in

Alright guys I know that everyone says 500 miles to break in a cam and stall. Well I have to drive my car from Ohio to North Carolina when I get back from Iraq, which is 480 miles. My question is will it hurt the car drive it that far at a constant speed and RPM? Or should I drive it as much as possible in the four days I am home before making the trip??

Roller cams don't need a break-in. You should heat cycle the new spring a few times before going crazy with rpm first though

I'm M6 not sure about the stall, but the cam isn't a big deal at all. Drive it for a few nights until you get up to operating temperature, then let it fully cool, do that twice, and you're more than good to go. Shouldn't be a big deal at all. I'm sure you'll love the stall and cam, 2 of the best mods for an A4.

Yeah, good idea with new valve springs, but after that "Drive it Like You Stole it".

Heat cycle the springs, as mentioned above. Other than that, cams are often installed, then the car is thrown on the dyno for tuning soon after for a beating.

Most people say recomend some kind of a break in for a stall, but others just go beat the **** out of them right away w/o any problems (like me).
