Default Tint % examples

Does anyone know of website that shows how dark the various tint percentages are compared to one another? Here in CO the legal limit is 27% and I'm wondering if that's even worth doing. Thanks.

that means it has to allow 27% of the light through, not the other way around .. make sure you check whether that is 27% tint, or 27% through the window .. 35% tint on our windws will put you at about 28% light through the window.

just for refefernce .. this is what 35% looks like it is definately worth doing

5% all the way. I have had it in Cali for years and never been pulled over. Even if you do, it's just a fix it ticket.

Who cares what's legal? Go Dark!

Thanks for all the replies. Those of you with tint at 5%, how much of a pain is it to drive at night? Wouldn't the lack of light get annoying?

With 20 sometimes I end up rolling down the windows to make sure I can see. Its especially hard because the street light is very far from my house, so the driveway and street are dark.

5% will be really hard to see, but worth it in the day time

My side windows are 25%, and the hatch is 5%. I don't need to use the flip switch on the rear-view mirror at night because the tint's so dark. But the 25% allows enough light in to see fine at night. I wouldn't use 5% on the side windows IMO, it's too dark at night.

Only on dark roads and backing up are a problem for me. If you have good eyes 20/20 vision i think you will be fine, if not you would probably want to go to a lighter shade or roll down the windows.

Here in Cali they don't allow any tint at all on the side windows. I don't have tint on the sides or the back and I am very happy with it.

I agree, If your state doesnt allow tint on the side windows and your still going to do it might as well go all out with the 5% then do a light shade and get harassed for it.

I have 5% and it is a little more difficult to see out of at night, but nothing that's going to cause an accident.
