Default axle swap in a 10bolt?

is it ok to swap axle in a stock 10bolt? if so which spline? i was thinking of going with some Moser axles but was wondering if it was worth it

Well Moser axles are stronger than stock, and they are only $240 for a set of C clips axles. However the down fall of the 10 bolt at least with most of my customers is the physical size of the ring gear. With high HP & slicks no matter how strong the axles are and no matter how strong the posi is 10 bolts just destroy ring gears, usually the pinion just rips teeth off the ring gear

well i know in an auto car the 10bolt is likey to go then an m6 car....will replacing the axles and gears make it more vulnerable or less...my buddy has a stock M6 10bolt in his 408 firehawk(which is an automatic) and has had no problems with it

all i know is that a auto is easier on the 10 bolts then the manuals. a lot of cars into the 10's and i know of 1 that went a high 9. I just added a t/a girdle and stud kit and havent had any problems out of it(knock on wood). Im going back to the track next weekend looking for 11's out of mine, i just make sure i have enough money in the bank for another 10bolt.

usually only the spyder gears break and tear up the ring and pinion just about always before an axle breaks, i wouldn't put any money into new axles.

Yeah I second that, 10 bolts are made of glass and with any kind of horsepower they are on borrowed time. I have seen a few cars on the street and track lose an axle and go into the wall. I figured it out for one customer and it was around $1000 to completely beef up a 10 bolt with the best of everything, but in the end the ring gear is still the same size

I put in the moser axles because my axle bearing **** the bed, no problems since I installed them and put the 3.73s in there. I wish I had the money for a new rearend put now I'm on a mission to see how far this 10 bolt will hang on.
