Default Question about swapping headers

If I change headers will I have to have my car retuned? I believe that I would but I am not certain.

Have to? No. Would there be gains? Maybe.

you don't HAVE to, but it's worth it in my opinion. my car picked up power but it was still running super rich without a tune

He already has headers though (sig lists SLP LTs). I think he's asking if he needs to retune if he switches to a different brand of headers.

If that is in fact the situation, then I don't think a re-tune is a must. Probably only be very minor gains to be had (if any).

This is exactly what I am asking. I already have headers on my car. Thanks

Is it for clearance reasons? looks like it might be due to the low hanging SLP's.

Mine ran rich right away, so I got a tune and all was good.

I am thinking about changing out headers for a number of reasons. First and foremost is the lowered price on the QTP headers. They make about 17rwhp more than my SLPs and will tuck up higher. Most likely, if I do purchase them it will be a while before I have them installed. I guess I just like to get a bargin when I see one.

There's no doubt QTP headers are great but a 17hp difference at the rear wheels? Seems like quite a bit unless SLP long tubes are just that horrible ?

yeah i dont think the qtps would net you a gain of near that much maybe around 5 hp but thats just if the slps really suck that bad

oh and i really wouldnt waste your money on a new tune just from headers it shouldnt change much at all
